A Geek Tragedy!. » This movie made my wife cry! But not for the reason you're thinking. Check it out, it is well made. You will enjoy it. http://www.reelgood.tv/filminfo.php?film=105GEEKTR Who should Nathaniel listen to? Kyle? David? or Edward?

» Is it elfish? elvish? or Elvis?

Posted by: CPickford05 at 05/21/2005
» Hehehe... That would be Elvish. ;)

Posted by: David at 05/21/2005
» At first I thought it was "Elvis", but then I found out he left the building. So I was left wondering between elfish and elvish. It turns out that both spellings are correct and used interchangeably in the dictionary as well as different sources. According to http://greenbooks.theonering.net/turgon/noteontext.html the correct way for Tolkien was elvish, but his book editors changed it to elfish figuring that Tolkien had mispelled it. » Nice film! I found it funny and well done. I especially liked the soundtrack. This question is for the Producer, what inspired you to make this film?

Posted by: CPickford05 at 05/24/2005
» I got the idea for “A Geek Tragedy” from the best place: real life. I had to produce a five minute film for Producer’s Unit, and I wanted to write the script, and edit it myself. The struggle I had was what story to tell. I bounced around a lot of different ideas, some of which may yet be produced. But ultimately I came back to a story that I think everyone can identify with, on some level. At its heart, it’s a love story, but it’s more a st... read more

» I'd love to take credit for that since it was my favorite part of the movie, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't me. :)

» Uh oh... :) I wonder who it was, then. It was an early morning - we started shooting a little after 6 AM. Ah, well. Somebody suggested it, and it worked beautifully. Anyways, I had a great crew, and we got done in record time. Thanks to you all.

Julio wasn't the ACTOR?!!!. » Say it ain't so! Julio wasn't the actor? I thought he was in everything!!

Posted by: CPickford05 at 05/24/2005
» No, but he was Key Grip. ;) He still had a hand in it.

» I enjoyed the Geek Comedy. I specially liked the romantic words in elvish. I came across this new show called Beauty and the Geek last night and it made me think of what might have been if the Geek had actually spoken to the Beauty in your comedy. http://www.thewb.com/Shows/WithFormat/0,7930,232483||,00.html

Re: Julio wasn't the ACTOR?!!!. » Say it ain't so! Julio wasn't the actor? I thought he was in everything!! How did I get that reputation?! I'm rarely in front of the camera. And when I am, it is with the greatest of hesitation (with just a dash of blackmail). ;) And a sidenote on "Beauty and the Geek," did you know Ashton Kutcher produced that? Someone stop him, please.

Posted by: Jshwa82 at 06/03/2005
Yeah, that's why. » Yes. I am well aware of Julio's hesitation about getting in front of the camera. I'm also aware Julio's a terrific director and a nice guy to boot. I thought I'd just do some tongue in cheek humor. Julio hates being in front of the camera apperently. Joshua

» I don't watch the WB ever since they cancelled my favorite show. :) I'm tempted to stop watching UPN for the same reason. Long live Angel and Enterprise! Of course, this boycott is made all the easier because they don't have anything else worth watching (for me, anyways). :) (Can you tell that I'm a geek? ;)) I can't speak for Julio as an actor, but I'm looking forward to seeing his work as a director. :)

My only thing.... » The only downside, is very hard for me to discuss. Basically it is this. I got to premiere "A Geek Tragedy", and while I really liked the script (kudos to Cameron and Paul) and while I absolutely loved the movie, I need to say there was a problem with the casting. The four guys I would gladly call my friends, but I have to say this: They're not Geeks. For one thing, they're far too handsome (for lack of a better description) to be called Geeks, t... read more

Oh and a question.... » Why was the phone blinking the whole time during the movie? J

Posted by: Jshwa82 at 06/03/2005
And.... » And for perhaps the funniest facial expression, watch Tommy's face during the elvish scene. I just know he's got that hand over his mouth because he can't keep a straight face. J

» Just got done watching the "director's cut" of A Geek Tragedy, and I've gotta say kudos, Paul. :) My version will always be my favorite (;)), but you did manage to fix a lot of the pacing problems. It's amazing how with the same footage, two such very different versions of the same story can emerge. My only gripe, if you can call it such, is that some of the camera moves are really distracting. For example, during the "elvish" speech, ... read more
