"Quite possibly the most ambitious student film you will ever see." --Jason Richards Our world has ended. An era of wars and plagues has driven humanity to the brink of extinction. Through the strife, mankind has come together in order to survive. Only one enemy remains: SYN. Using terrorist tactics, SYN strikes quickly and disappears without a trace. No demands are announced, no explanations given. It seems that SYN desires only one objective: the end of the human race. In the face of this threat, the CHURCH OF MAN has raised up a force of young warriors with a single purpose: hunt down and destroy SYN, wherever it is found. This is the story of one such warrior, and his journey to discover the nature of his enemy and finally answer the question: What is Syn? Be sure to check out the 5-part miniseries on the making of Syn!

Wow this film sure looks familiar like someone watched Equilibrium and then thought, hey, I need to make a movie and have no idea what to make, let\\\'s take this movie add the church in a couple of times making it a little more religious and call it Syn. This movie has scenes that are almost identical to Equilibrium. I wonder how those producers would feel especially since you didn\\\'t even give them props.

SYN. » What do you know, they even had a music video for this film

syn. » i watched "syn" and i must say it was very well done. however i was very disappointed that in the "behind the scenes" documentart they did not give any props or acknowledgement to the fact that this basically is an Equilibrium remake with a little tweaking. From custome design to action scenes to basic cinematography...this is Equilibrium. When the movie began and i realized this i wanted to just turn it off...but i gave it a ... read more

» I have to agree. I worked on the film as Associate Producer, and a year later, when I saw Equilibrium on DVD, I was very disappointed. It's possible that it wasn't inspired by Equilibrium, and the similarities are coincidental. I know to a certain extent, almost all science fiction borrows from itself, and tends to be rather self-referential, but I think it's still a rather harsh blow to one of Regent's best films. Fortunately, the production qua... read more

Equilibrium. » I produced the 'making of' and DVD for Syn. I wasn't aware of Equilibrium at the time. I agree - mention should have been made.
