
Wow - Captain Ahab is out to harpoon whatever swims into view! That's a rather harsh review of a student film. Laziness is not in the technique used, but in whether you put in the effort to make it work. I'd say this works well 85% of the time, and the last 15% could use minor tweaks. If you have a simple (ie, pure, brilliant) concept, you don't need to encumber it with excessive production. VO and B-roll works in the right cases. Tell a story. Involve people. Be creative and conscientious. And: Don't give a rip about someone else's arbitrary requirements.
